As the Indian telecom services market evolves towards increasing rich-media ecosystem with operators having numerous service delivery platforms, there is a strong demand from operators to have a more simplified but at the same time a more technically sound network ecosystem to ensure better end-user experience. Sensing a strong opportunity from such segment, leading global telecom gear manufacturer, ZTE is all geared up to get aggressive on its sales pitch for its Bearer Network product line in India.
ZTE spokesperson, Mr. Li Guang, Director, R&D, ZTE Corp while speaking to TelecomTiger says, ”With WiMAX and 3G also set to enter India as well as with operators also focusing on VAS and broadband services, the Bearer Network adoption finds perfect relevance in the Indian telecom landscape.”
Technology:
The company’s Bearer Network product line makes use of the latest technological concepts of PTN (Packet Transport Network), IxWDM and ASON (Automatic Switched Optical network). Mr Guang says that ZTE has incorporated the two technological concepts in its Bearer Network offerings in such a way that it leads to
Enhanced end to end QOS, dynamic traffic configuration and modification
leading to easier management of mesh networks, thereby ensuring quicker service recovery time, easy monitoring, management and maintenance of network, better network efficiency.
Differentiation:
The company has positioned its bearer Network offerings around a triple ‘I’ concept with the three ‘Is’ standing for IP Oriented, Intelligent and Integrated. xWDM and IPTN are the concepts being incorporated by ZTE for the same. Its claims that its solutions carve out differentiation in the form of reduced power consumption and more environment-friendly as compared to competing products. Its Bearer Network equipment architecture is shown to be consuming as much as 70 % less space than traditional network equipments.
Cost Factor:
Moreover to fend off any apprehensions from an operator’s perspective about the existing network infrastructure becoming redundant in case of migration to Barer Network ecosystem, ZTE says that it offers such a roadmap for migration to the NGN Bearer Network system that optimum use of the existing infrastructure is ensured.
Mr. Guang says that the company is willing to go the extra mile and help operators interested in adopting the solutions by way of extending its credit financing schemes.
Green Quotient:
The company says that its product line ranks very high on the Green quotient component. It says that it does not uses any heavy metal including lead, and other biohazardous products in manufacturing the solutions. It makes use of recyclable components as far as possible. The equipments also emit less noise.
Rural Telephony:
On rural telephony Mr Guang says that the need for Bearer Network is even stronger. He reasons that maintenance as well as delivery of services in rural areas is very difficult in the existing scenario involving traditional networks. Hence operators need to migrate to Bearer Network systems to ensure simplified network maintenance. Even automated maintenance is possible through the remote maintenance mechanism. Furthermore the solutions being high on the intelligence quotient, the network consume less power when the traffic flowing through it is less or idle.
“The adoption of our Bearer Network solutions by more than 300 operators in about 100 countries reflects our strong presence in the space. We are upbeat on India potential for our Bearer Network solution offerings,” concludes Mr. Guang. |
