India’s GSM trade body, Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), Secretary General, T V Ramachandran announced his departure from the organization after a 12 year long stint.
“The journey has, indeed, been eventful, interesting and exciting — sometimes too much so,” said Ramachandran on his exit.
He explained by saying,” “Twelve years in the same role and task is a rather long stint. I think that the time has come to move on and explore new vistas and seek fresh challenges.”
He said that he hoped the industry lobby would enlarge its scope to become “The Convergent Operators’ Association of India.”
T.V.Ramachandran is credited for his role as the Secretary General of COAI having aggressively advocating the interests of GSM operators whenever the situation demanded.
He is reported to be joining Vodafone Essar in a new role. |
