GPS player, SatNav Technologies today announced a new strategic partnership with Survey of India (SOI) whereby SatNav will use maps from SOI to offer more value added products to its customers.
SatNav will now be able to release SOI-approved digital maps and custom map content within the public domain for commercial use in range of navigation as well as well as LBS in mobile and personal navigation systems.
Meanwhile SatNav also announced that its releasing a new enhanced map database to cover 404 cities and 16 lakh Points of Interest (POIs).
SatNav says that the new maps will have enhanced features such as more POI content, accuracy, road network validation, gap in median and turn restrictions.
