TT Bureau |  |  26 Aug 2009

From September 1, 2009, BSNL subscribers in the North Eastern circle comprising of seven states will be able to make calls within the state as local calls. An order to this effect was passed on August 12, 2009.

The company has also created a single billing zone for the region. Earlier there were three Licensed Service Areas (LSA) for the region.

From September 01, outgoing calls, SMSs and data charges while roaming will be charged as per the home LSA tariff while incoming calls on roaming will be free.
