Qualcomm Inc. has joined forces with Azim Premji Foundation to introduce new initiative designed to promote web-enabled educational content and render wireless broadband access to select rural and government-run schools in India.
The project, which is in its pilot phase, echoes Qualcomm and Azim Premji Foundation’s believes that find wireless broadband technologies as the most effect tool for imparting education and hence aims to impact help government schools by providing wireless broadband technologies to ensure enriched learning experiences for students through engaging in web-enabled and regionalized / contextualized educational content.
“Qualcomm believes wireless technology is the most efficient and economic way to connect underserved communities and provide access to quality education and we are pleased to be working with Azim Premji Foundation. Through our Wireless Reach initiative, this project will expand access to education in these communities and demonstrate our commitment to the people of India,” said Dr. Paul E. Jacobs, chairman and chief executive officer of Qualcomm.
