Dell ties up with MTNL for 3G services to push laptop sales
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  08 Sep 2009

Foreseeing an opportunity for business, computing terminal manufacturer, Dell announced a new alliance with state-run PSU MTNL wherein selected laptops and netbooks of Dell will come bundled with MTNL’s 3G services.

“By making the Internet easier to access and easier to afford, this partnership will fast-track the growth of India’s online population while opening up new business frontiers in content development and e-commerce,” said MTNL chairman and managing director R S P Sinha.

The models will have embedded 3G Ericsson module with GPS and MTNL SIM incorporated in them. The MTNL plan offers national roaming facility. There is no need to connect any external USB modem for connecting to the internet.

Initially the bundled offer will be available on Dell’s Inspiron Mini 10 netbook which is priced at about Rs 30,000/-.
