iPhone in India sadly remains a dampener. But globally the model has revolutionized the mobile services space not only in terms of the rich features offered by the device but also due to the wide range of applications possible through the device. One such application developed by Clearwave Mobile of USA aims to offer healthcare services incorporating the use of GPS and leveraging from the iPhone platform.
Branded as ICEbeacon, the application claims to be truly mobile emergency alert system available in the USA. Users are offered one-click access to send real-time text alerts to pre-designed contacts in patient’s mobile phone alongwith data such as allergies, blood type, known medical conditions and current medications. The application is available for $ 2.99.
“This is the first and only application of its kind,” says Clearwave Mobile President Jess Taylor. “We designed it specifically for first responders based on the things they need to know to be successful in an emergency situation.”
The firm also offers premium services over iPhone such as 24/7 access to live operators, lost phone support, custom wallet cards and I.D. stickers. “Our I.D. stickers can be placed on mobile phones, laptops, car bumpers, even a preschooler’s jacket,” says Taylor. Premium ICEbeacon services are available for $3.00 per month, per account.
The ICEbeacon application will soon be made available worldwide in over 30 languages and will also be extended to BlackBerry and smartphone users of other popular brands. |
