TT Bureau |  |  08 Sep 2009

Ericsson which is in news mainly for its wireless technology offerings received a shot in its arm as US major AT&T granted it a share of the Wireline infrastructure needs.

As part of the deal, Ericsson will offer AT&T end-to-end solution which Ericsson says will accelerate AT&T’s time-tom-market for new products and services related to fixed line services as well as broadband services.

"Ericsson is honored to be entrusted by AT&T with this critical role," says Angel Ruiz, President of Ericsson North America.  "AT&T is a global leader in fixed broadband deployments and helps set the standard that others within the industry look to.  We look forward to providing AT&T and its customers with the best technologies and solutions our industry has to offer."

The new deal will see Ericsson making use of its integrated DSL portfolio for Fiber to the Node (FTTN) and IP DSLAM solutions supporting services such as IPTV, High Speed Internet and VoIP.
