IT infrastructure player, EMC today unveiled its LEED Gold Green certified centralized Centre of Excellence (COE) in India. Additionally the company also made a commitment of investing $ 1.5 billion in the country over the next five years.
The new COE aims to integrate R&D centre and EMC’s Global Services organizations from four separate locations across two cities into one campus. The COE is one of the largest R&D centres of the company outside the USA.
"India offers tremendous opportunities in innovation and market potential. EMC’s commitment of $1.5 billion over the next five years illustrates the important role India will play in the company’s long-term strategic APJ and global growth plans. The India COE will be responsible in helping EMC deliver more innovative, industry-leading products and services in the hottest technology areas in IT that meet our customers’ most pressing needs,” said David Goulden, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
The investments earmarked till 2014 will touch upon areas including expanding the company’s R&D infrastructure in India, increasing global services capabilities and adding more technologists to drive deeper levels of engagement and support for local clients as well as partners. |
