Reuters Market Light (RML) is raring to expand into major farming states of the country having tasted sweet success in Maharashtra, Punjab and Haryana. And the company over a period of time has also realized its main competency is content creating and customization rather than sales and distribution.
It is for this reason that RML has tied up with Biostadt India Limited (BIL) to distribute and market its services among the farming community in Gujarat. RML MD, Amit Mehra says that Biostadt is known for its concept selling competency to the farming community.
The deal with Biostadt will ensure availability of RML services through the former’s agrochemical, seed and Ingene Organics distribution network comprising of 1500 distributors and 20,000 retailers. Biostadt also offers the farming community agricultural, human care and veterinary services as part of its ‘Biostadt Aastha Clinics’. RML services will be marketed through Biostadt Aastha Rath.
“With a qualified marketing team of about 250 agriculture graduates and post graduates experienced and trained to serve the farming community , Biostadt is well positioned to promote the benefits of RML to farmers,’ says Devendra Kumar Chopra CEO of Biostadt India Limited on the tie-up.
Commenting on the tie-up, Mr. Maanav Yashroy of Reuters Market Light said, “The agri service launched by RML in three states of Maharashtra, Punjab & Haryana has met with overwhelming response from more than 100000 farmers. Teaming up with Biostadt will add real momentum and help us scale up our footprint across Gujarat in a very rapid and systematic way. In the process of building this pioneering business, we have continuously improved the service based on customer feedback; however rural distribution and marketing present an obvious opportunity to bring in third parties with real leveraging power. The RML-BIL tie-up is a major step to reaching millions of farmers through the agri-input consumption route”.
The Agha Khan rural support program (AKRSP) will assist RML in reaching out to the farmers in Gujarat.
Just last week, RML had entered into tie-up with Idea Cellular. |
