The National Law University, Delhi, in collaboration with Global Institute of Intellectual Property (GIIP) and Hughes Communications has today introduced an all new one year Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), believed to be equivalent to the finest IP programs offered anywhere.
The Diploma Program, which will be channeled across India via Hughes Global Education Platform over satellite based ‘Interactive Onsite Learning’ pedagogy, will provide an in-depth knowledge of the laws and process related to Trademarks, Copyrights, Geographical Indications, Trade Secrets, Patents and other forms of IPs, Filing Procedures and conducting trademark/prior art searches.
“This course offers an extensive curriculum that will prepare students for increasingly complex intersection of business, technology and law. It will expose the participants to the life cycle of different types of intellectual property rights beginning from protection, maintenance, seeking remedies against infringement, licensing and commercialization. The program will build proficiency and comparative understanding in the area of Indian, US and European Patent Systems,” said Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh, Vice-Chancellor, NLU, Delhi.
The coursework will be spread over a one year divided into six modules, which includes Introduction to Intellectual Property, Protection and Maintenance of Intellectual Property, Patent Process (India, US, Europe, Via Pct), Patent Prosecution, Searching & Drafting, IP Litigation & Alternate Dispute Resolution and IP Management.
Further, the students will get 30 Hours of ‘On Campus’ interaction, conducted by highly qualified and experienced faculty which include Professors from US and Indian Academic Institutes, practicing IP Attorneys & Patent Agents, Professionals from USPTO, India PTO, LPOs, Silicon Valley Seminars Inc. and in-house team of US trained Professors.
This Diploma program is in accordance with the Global Institute of Intellectual Property (GIIP), the academic partner of National Law University, Delhi has been structured by experts in the field of IP and Patents, including Academicians, IP & Patent Attorneys, Patent Examiners & Agents from the US, Europe and India, keeping the industry requirements at core.
The application process for the program closes on 5th Oct, 2009 and the course will kick start by the 3rd Week of Nov, 2009. |
