  At a time when profits have slowed down for the operators the immediate focus is to cut down on expenses and improve the margin. One way to do so is to reduce the operating costs. With networks consuming a large part of the operating costs for any operator, any solution or avenue which offers this relief is welcome. And it is this demand which ZTE India is targeting through its managed services offerings.
Inorder to enhance its delivery of services to the Indian service providers, the company today announced the launch of a National Network Operator Centre (NNOC) in Gurgaon near Delhi. ZTE says the Centre is largest outside India. It will initially employ 200 people with as many as 80% of these being Indian.
Moreover the new Centre will be integrated with the company’s GCSC (Global Customer Support Center) in China as well as the LCSC (Local Customer Support Center) in Bangalore.
ZTE says that the Centre will provide a unified management platform assisting operators in managing to lower total cost of ownership.
Set-up at an initial investment of $ 4 million, the Centre will serve Tata Teleservices to start with.

Not only will it enable reduction in the Total cost of ownership for existing customers by providing them with a unified management platform but will also help showcase our world-class engineering capabilities to new prospective customers. The NNOC platform will be the gateway to next generation managed services for our customers and help us consolidate our leadership position,” said Dr. D. K. Ghosh, Chairman & Managing Director, ZTE Telecom India Pvt Ltd.
The NNOC will offer services such as Utility Network Management System (UNMS) enabling different service management as per the needs of different operators, Resource Management System (RMS) that will enable efficient management of network and business resources and Electricity Maintaining System (EMS) for effective duty management etc.
For new entrants the Centre can assist in faster rollout of network and thereby reduce the time-to-market. |
