Wipro Infotech bagged a 10 year IT infrastructure and Services contract from Delhi International Airport Pvt Ltd (DIAL). The Airport is currently under upgradation with GMR handling the project.
Wipro has bagged the contract for terminal 3 or T3. The scope of the contract includes airport specific applications, data centre, networks, security and surveillance systems and end user systems. Wipro will also deploy and manage a host of intelligent systems including building management systems, access control, public address, and telephony.
The parties involved have formed a joint venture towards this affect and named it as Wipro Airport IT Services Limited in which Wipro will hold 74% and DIAL 26% stake.

This partnership was decided as an outcome of a global competitive bidding process which attracted several global and Indian IT majors. In a keenly contested deal Wipro emerged as the preferred partner for the outsourcing deal spanning 10 years. |
