GTS Central Europe (GTS CE) has come up with a unified Ethernet Network connectivity connecting Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia offering more flexibility and increased bandwidth.
While initially the network will have 15 core Ethernet nodes to be deployed within three months (the project has already commenced from November) the target is to have 450 nodes by end of 2011. GTS CE also plans to to implement Ethernet POPs at key interconnection points in Western Europe, such as Frankfurt and Vienna which will help it to enhance cooperation with international carriers.
The network can support up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) speeds. In the future, the company plans to offer a GTS Ethernet LAN service with a multipoint L2 VPN connection.
“Until now we have offered our customers Ethernet coverage in each country on an individual basis,” said Adam Sawicki, CEO at GTS CE. “Having our own robust network with unrivalled coverage across five countries in the CEE region, and by offering one cohesive Ethernet portfolio, GTS can help its international customers with multiple locations to manage their networks more efficiently and to offer them high-speed data, voice and video transmissions. Starting from the middle of 2010, we expect the Ethernet business to grow by more than 20% annually. As this will be the first year GTS offers a unified Ethernet, we feel very optimistic about the future growth of the company.” |
