Teracom beats biggies to bag Rs 12.6 cr Indian Railways Broadband contract

System integrator player, Teracom today claimed winning a tender from Indian Railways towards offering Broadband services. The order is valued at Rs 12.6 crore. Other players in fray for the deal included HCL, ITI, Wipro, Wipro Networks, Alcatel – Lucent, Spanco, Sterlite, BEL, Trimax, RGV Telecom.

 

The deal will cover residential and commercial premises of Railways providing connectivity to 30,000 employees. The services will be delivered over a value chain comprising of IP-DSLAM connecting to Railtel’s MPLS network, ADSL2+ and CPEs. It will connect 100 exchanges of Railways. The services will support voice as well as data services.

 

“We are very aggressive and excited to execute this prestigious project in a time bound manner” said Mr. Puneet Jain, Senior Vice President, Corporate Business of Teracom Limited.

 

Teracom has recently submitted bids for BSNL’s WiMAX franchisee contract in alliance with Cisco.
