Tata Teleservices’ (TTSL) GSM services arm, Tata DoCoMo is planning to increase its earmarked investment for the Karnataka circle from $ 150 million to $ 300 million by end of this fiscal, claiming the increase in investment to overwhelming response for its services.
"We will be doubling our investment in Karnataka from the USD 150 million invested so far (from July to October) to 300 million by March 2010 in view of the overwhelming response we''ve received for our services here," said Yatish Mehrotra, South Head Tata Docomo. "This additional investment of USD 150 m in the next three months will be towards improving our infrastructure and expanding our capacity and network,” he added.
Tata Docomo has its network in 450 towns and 3,000 villages in Karnataka, Mehrotra said.
The company claims to have a market share of 55% in the new subscribers added in the circle between July to October 2009. |
