Reports say that Aircel will spin off its telecom tower arm having 17,500 towers into a new entity. GTL Infra will pick 51% stake while parent firm, GTL Ltd will pick 30% stake in this new entity. 19% will be bought by holding companies of the promoters.

The deal has valued Aircel’s telecom towers at Rs 48 lakh each.
For the deal, Barclays and Citi advised GIL while Nomura, Rothschild and Standard Chartered were advisors to Aircel. |
