BSNL, MTNL gearing up to be MNP-ready

PSUs BSNL and MTNL which missed the last deadline towards making their wireless networks to be mobile number portability (MNP) compatible are now working towards being ready for the same by the new deadline of March 31, 2010, reports the PTI.

PTI reports that BSNL has placed orders for MNP while MTNL is set to test its equipments for interoperability with other operators from March.

The DoT has called for a meeting of all operators to review their respective preparedness for MNP.
