ZTE Corp claimed that its unit sales for wireless terminals clocked the 60.17 million mark including 40 million handsets and 20 million data cards. When compared to corresponding figures for the year 2008, the growth is seen at 33%. 70% of the shipments were for international markets.
The company strategically penetrated into three major high-end markets including Europe, North America and Japan in the year 2009.
For data card business, the growth in sales is at 200% as per iSuppli’s latest study. The study says that Chinese companies hold over 80% of the global data cards market with ZTE’s share at 35% at the global level and 40% in China.
