TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  07 Jun 2010

Huawei Technologies’ India unit will get temporary relief as the investigating agency CBI has said that it has not got any evidence against it in one of the corruption cases against it.

The company has currently been indirectly banned from India on security grounds.

Huawei participated in two BSNL tenders for procuring GSM equipment. One of the tenders was fro procuring equipment for phase V of expansion plan and the other was for phase VI.

On a directive of Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), BSNL had transferred at least two officials on the corruption charges.

Sources said that the company still faces corruption cases in other cases.
