TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  15 Jun 2010

The CDMA and dual technology lobby association, AUSPI has written a letter to Union Communications Minister A Raja requesting him to ignore the demands raised by industrialist Kumar Manglam Birla who owns a majority stake in Idea Cellular.

The industry association has asked Raja to reject the demand of Mr. Birla asking for additional spectrum of 1.8 MHz up to the contracted spectrum of 6.2 MHz by way of auctioning.

AUSPI also asked the Minister to reject the demand of Mr. Birla asking for levying separate spectrum charges on revenues streams from GSM and CDMA technologies.
