SSTL Q1 2010 revenues more than triples at $ 17.1 mn

Sistema Shyam Teleservices (SSTL) reported revenues of $ 17.1 million for the quarter ended March 2010 as compared to revenues of $ 5.4 million recorded a year ago.

 

The OIBDA for the company stood at $ 76.7 million as compared to $ 30.4 million a year ago. Operating loss increased from $ 36.4 million to $ 95.3 million in Q1 2010.

 

SSTL’s subscriber base increased by 29.4% qoq to reach 3.8 million subscribers while the mobile ARPU decreased by 5.9% qoq to $ 1.6. SSTL attributed the drop in ARPU to increased competition in the Indian market.

 

The Minutes of Usage (MOU) decreased by 3.4% qoq to 328 from 339 in Dec 2009.

 

The fixedline subscriber base decreased from 177,000 to 134,000.
