 Huawei Technologies bagged 60% share of China Mobile’s total contract for IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) deployment. Huawei will deploy the solution in 19 provinces, including Guangdong, Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
China Mobile’s total project covers 31 provinces and will serve 14 million subscribers. The project s believed to be the largest IMS deployment to date. The initial phase will target businesses, households and individuals. Post deployment the operator will be able to offer services such as multimedia telephony, convergent IP Centrex, and other services such as MRBT (Multimedia Ring-Back Tone).
