ZTE Corp announced that it clicked an exclusive contract with Indonesia’s CDMA-based service provider, Smart Telecom towards providing key network infrastructure equipment.
Earlier ZTE had deployed an EV-DO Rev.B network in Bali for the operator. In 2006, ZTE was appointed the exclusive vendor by Smart Telecom.
As part of the new deal, ZTE will supply over 6,000 base stations with a total capacity of over 25 million that will cover the whole of Indonesia. The project involves wireless solutions, transmission and core network products, business platform systems, power supplies and other equipment.
“We are very glad to choose ZTE as the exclusive vendor for our network infrastructure project again. In the past four years of strategic cooperation between us, ZTE’s total solutions has greatly reduced our operating cost. ZTE’s fast network building capacity had enabled us to fast provide customers with various services. Upon completion, the network will greatly improve Smart Telecom’s extensive coverage of Indonesia as well as service capacity and quality. It will also optimally reduce Smart Telecom’s investment and allow a fast and smooth transition to a future LTE deployment.” said Richard Tan, Deputy CEO of Smart Telecom.
“We are very grateful for Smart Telecom’s trust in ZTE. In the past four years, ZTE has maintained a good strategic partnership with Smart Telecom. We will continue our in-depth cooperation with Smart Telecom as before, and believe that our company can join hands with Smart Telecom to build the best CDMA network in Indonesia in a short time,” said Cui Yi, President of ZTE Asia Pacific. |
