VAS enabler, Dialogic Corp. announced a partnership with Spice Digital and Bay Talkitec to offer advanced video services to the 3G subscribers of MTNL.
The services to be offered make use of Video VAS solutions built on Dialogic’s VisionTM CX Video gateway and Host Media Processing (HMP) Software Release 4.1LIN.
Additionally, Dialogic also announced the availability of the new Dialogic VisionTM 1000 Gateways. The Vision 1000 Gateways are configurable as a stand-alone 3G-324M video gateway - called the Dialogic VisionTM 1000 Video Gateway connected to external service delivery platforms via SIP/RTP, or in combination with an on-board programmable VoiceXML/CCXML media platform called the Dialogic VisionTM 1000 Programmable Media Platform enabling video and audio mobile services.
According to Dialogic, in the second configuration, Vision 1000 Gateways can perform both media gateway and media server processing functions, eliminating the need to configure a stand-alone media server product, saving as much as 50% in capex and providing mobile operators with a cost-effective choice to deploy a wide array of high-value 3G network-based interactive multimedia services.
“While no single operator secured the nationwide 3G spectrum in India’s recent 3G auction, multiple bidders each spent billions of dollars. Multimedia and video services are expected to play a key part in how government agencies will monetize services in mobile subscriber markets to help recover their costs,” says Jim Machi, senior vice president of marketing at Dialogic. “At VAS Asia 2010, we’ll provide a detailed look at the role that Dialogic will play in India’s evolving VAS market. We are looking forward to grow in the Indian market as it is developing at a phenomenal rate.”
The firm also recently launched its 2nd Annual Innovator Challenge that encourages application developers around the world to submit their mobile video applications built on Dialogic platform. Winners stand a chance to win $ 10,000 with cash prizes also awarded to the runners up. |
