Tata Communications and Google India announced a new business alliance to offer web-based collaborative business connectivity tools capable of providing email, instant messaging, calendar functionality, video and office presentation tools for the enterprise segment in India.
The connectivity tools are powered by Google Apps and the tie-up aims to offer advanced business-oriented VAS applications to the Indian enterprise segment.
The services will be offered on a pay-as-you-use business model and will come under the cloud-computing offerings of Tata Communications.
David Wirt, Senior Vice President, Global Head of Managed Services, Tata Communications said, “The launch of this service marks the coming together of two global entities to change the way enterprises communicate and collaborate both within their own organizations as well as with their partner and customer ecosystems. The relationship leverages Tata Communications’ market presence and expertise in India with Google’s innovative enterprise offerings, to provide a unique and easily-accessible business application for organizations in the local Indian market.”
