Research in Motion (RIM) announced the acquisition of application stores developer Cellmania in an effort to enhance its app store offering.
California-based Cellmania claims to have over 200,000 mobile content in 55 languages spanning over 100 countries. It says that India’s Airtel too is a major client.
One of its popular offerings includes 3G-ready mFinder that offers platform for developers to develop as well as sell them to end-users. The business deal with developers is on a revenue sharing basis.
Cellmania said on its website that it "is excited to announce that our company is now part of Research In Motion (RIM). Our team has joined RIM's global organisation and will continue to bring our expertise in Application Storefront development to the BlackBerry platform." |
