After launching the smartphones in China last year, Gionee has now launched the F205 and S11 Lite in India. The highlights of both smartphones is that they come with full view displays with 18:9 aspect ratio, and also support Face Unlock feature. The S11 Lite, also comes with dual cameras at the back. Sadly, even seven months after Google released Oreo update, the Gionee smartphones run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS with Amigo OS skin on top.

Catering to the swelling demand for pre-eminent smartphone features at competitive price points, both the launches are designed to lead the sub – 15K category in India. With new age features like Face Unlock, Fingerprint shutter, bokeh and group selfies with backlight; coupled with a Full View Display, we intend to establish connect with the youth and continue fulfilling their demands and requirements in the times to come,” Mr. Alok Shrivastava, Director – National Sales, Gionee India, said in a press release.
Gionee F205, S11 Lite price in India and availability
The Gionee F205 is priced at Rs 8,999 and will be offered in Black, Gold and Dark Blue color options, whereas the S11 Lite is priced at Rs 13,999 and will be offered in Rose Gold, Black and Blue color options. You will be able to purchase the smartphones from leading online and offline retailers across India.

The F205 flaunts a 5.45-inch Full View display with 18:9 aspect ratio, whereas the S11 Lite comes with a slightly larger 5.7-inch display, but the company hasn’t mentioned anything about the display resolution.
Under the hood, the F205 is powered by a MediaTek MT6739 quad-core SoC clocked at 1.3GHz, paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage. The smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front camera. To keep things ticking, it is armed with a 2,670mAh battery.
The S11 Lite, on the other hand, is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage. In the photography department, it comes with dual cameras at the back – a 13-megapixel sensor coupled with a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Up front, it comes with a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. The smartphone is armed with a 3,030mAh battery.
Both smartphones come with dual SIM card slots, 4G LTE with VoLTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. Also, while the F205 ditches the fingerprint sensor, the S11 Lite comes with one located at the back. The selfie cameras on both smartphones feature live bokeh mode, that lets you add DSLR-like bokeh effects to your selfies. |
