Samsung Galaxy J4 officially launched in India at starting price of Rs 9,990

Samsung has officially launched its latest budget smartphone called the Galaxy J4 (2018) in India today. The smartphone was revealed by Indian telecom retailer from Mumbai, yesterday that showcased the phone in its boxing and mentioned that this is part of Samsung’s Make in India effort.

And through the official launch today we now have the actual pricing of the smartphone which is Rs 9,990 for the 2GB RAM + 16GB internal storage variant and Rs 11,990 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB internal memory variants.

The Samsung Galaxy J4 feature Advanced Memory Management, which according to Samsung is a ‘Make for India’ feature that will help consumers save memory space by automatically directing image and video content from social media applications to the external memory card. Advanced Memory Management will also help in keeping the device memory clean by deleting duplicate images received on social media messengers.

The smartphone is directed at the youth with an adjustable flash for capturing better selfies in low light conditions. The device will come pre-loaded with Samsung Mall which lets users take photos of products to find their likeness on e-commerce websites. Besides these the smartphone also features a App pair feature that open two predefined apps at the same time in two windows, and adaptive Wi-Fi that learns patterns to turn the Wi-Fi one and off depending on the location.

Samsung Galaxy J4 specifications and features

The budget smartphone features a 5.5-inch HD (720 x 1920 pixels) Super AMOLED display, with the standard aspect ratio of 16:9. It is said to be running on an Exynos 7570 1.4GHz quad-core SoC, coupled alongside 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage with options for 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The phone features an expandable storage of 256GB via a microSD card. The phone is said to run on Android 8.0 Oreo OS.

For taking pictures, the phone comes with a 13-magapixel (f/1.9) camera at the back, and a 5-megapixel (f/2.2) camera at the front. Both cameras support LED flash for taking pictures in low-light situations. The rear camera can also shoot full HD videos. Underneath the hood is a 3,000mAh battery, which should be able to power through a day with no problems.
