OnePlus 6 Midnight Black 8GB RAM, 256GB storage variant launched in India
TT Correspondent |  |  28 Jun 2018

At the launch of OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition in May this year, the company had not brought the regular edition 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage Midnight Black variant of the OnePlus 6 to India, saying at the time that it had no plans to for the Indian market. The company appears to have changed its mind, and OnePlus has now gone ahead and announced the availability of that variant in India. The smartphone is more affordable than the Marvel Avengers Limited Edition model, thus making it cheaper for users to choose the top variant.

In its press statement announcing the launch, OnePlus India said, "Following the overwhelming response to the OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition in India, which was the only variant of the OnePlus 6 to pack 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, OnePlus offers its community another variant of the OnePlus 6 packed with 256GB. The 256GB variant has been met with unprecedented popularity both globally and in India and has become a community favourite in a short time."

The OnePlus 6 Midnight Black 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage variant price in India has been set at Rs. 43,999, and it will go on sale from July 10 on Amazon.in. The top-end Midnight Black variant of the OnePlus 6 will also be sold on Oneplus.in and OnePlus offline channels in the country starting July 14. Additionally, the Notify Me option on Amazon.in has gone live to allow interested buyers to keep a tab on availability of the model. Interestingly, this variant has been priced Rs. 1,000 less than the Marvel Avengers edition that had a price tag of Rs. 44,999 - of course, users will also have to forego the not-so-insignificant goodies that came along with the special edition smartphone.

Specifications
To recap, the OnePlus 6 is a dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone that runs OxygenOS on top of Android 8.1 Oreo, with an Android P update promised. It sports a 6.28-inch full-HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) Full Optic AMOLED display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. At its core, the flagship gets a Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with 6GB/ 8GB of RAM and 64GB/ 128GB/ 256GB of internal storage.
