Xiaomi Redmi Go smartphone to launch on March 19 in India

Xiaomi is all set to launch its first Android Go smartphone in India. The company has started sending out invites for the launch of its Redmi Go smartphone in India. Xiaomi will launch the smartphone on 19 March at an event in Delhi. The company has also tweeted about the launch. The tweet reads, "Welcome to a new world. A world of upgrade, connectivity & progress. Welcome to #AapkiNayiDuniya."

Launched last year in Philippines and European market, the Xiaomi Redmi Go is the entry level smartphone of the company. In Europe the smartphone is selling at 80 Euros which translates into Rs 6,513. This means that the company might price the smartphone around Rs 6,000 in India as well.

The Xiaomi Redmi Go features an HD display with 720x1280 pixel resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor paired with 1GB of RAM. The device comes with 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB by adding a microSD card.

As the name suggest the smartphone is powered by the Go Edition of Android 8.1 Oreo. The dual SIM device sports an 8MP single lens camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash.

The front of the device is home to a 5MP selfie camera. The device is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery and offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS as connectivity options.

Recently, Xiaomi revealed the list of smartphones which will receive Android Pie update soon. The smartphones which will receive Android Pie update include Redmi Note 6 Pro, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi Y2, Mi 6X. All these smartphones will receive the update by Q2 2019.
