Rural & Urban Wireline Subscriber Base trends


The decline in subscriber base in the rural segment is more severe than that seen in the urban segment. While in June’08, rural segment accounted for 29.1 % market share in the total wireline market, the figure dropped to 27.5 % by June’09.

This trend is completely opposite to that witnessed in the mobile space where the rural segment is rapidly gaining more and more market share.
