Rohit Chandra quits as Uninor COO

Uninor’s Rohit Chandra quit as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company to puruse his entrepreneurial ambitions.

"I will be following Uninor's progress with great interest. I wish the entire Uninor team the very best,” said Rohit Chanrda on his exit.

Rohit Chandra is considered to be one of the stalwarts of the Indian telecom industry. He was earlier in race for the position of CEO, Datacom, Reliance Communications also wanted him to join its fold.

He was one of the highest paid executives in the industry with his salary speculated to be in the range of Rs. 6 crore. He earlier served Aircel as CEO.

Yogesh Malik will replace Rohit Chandra as Uninor’s new COO.

The changes are effective November 01, 2010.
