ZTE’s 2Q10 GPON revenues led all major vendors in year on year growth
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  26 Oct 2010

According to telecoms industry analyst Ovum, in 2Q10, ZTE’s GPON revenues (OLT ports and ONT/ONU combined) grew the fastest year on year among the top 10 GPON vendors in the industry,

Ovum’s ‘Market Share - FTTx, DSL, and CMTS ports 2010 Q2’ report, also ranked ZTE no. 2 in FTTx (OLT port) shipments on a rolling four quarter basis (3Q09 to 2Q10).

ZTE built the first commercial FTTB network based on GPON for Telecom Italia in Italy in December 2009, constructed the largest GPON-based backhaul network in the world for Telkom of Indonesia, and deployed a FTTB/H network for Tiscali in Italy. Since then, ZTE has won successive GPON contracts from operators in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Eastern Europe. Thanks to these contracts, ZTE has become the leading GPON equipment provider.
