ZTE Corporation has launched a European FTTx Business Model which has been developed to give operators the right balance of products and solutions for the requirements of the European optical network markets. At the same time, ZTE unveiled its Uni-FAN broadband acceleration solution to help operators rapidly deploy broadband networks.
In Europe, the emphasis in delivery of broadband services is changing from web-pages to user experiences. ZTE’s Europe FTTx Business Model has been developed to respond to this demand and features FTTx, Content Delivery Network (CDN), Smart-Home and Open-Access solutions. FTTx technology provides higher bandwidth which is the infrastructure foundation for video services. The Content Delivery Network is a converged multi-service access platform which operators can share. In terms of Smart-Home, ZTE FTTx model provides multiple services for home users.
ZTE will use the Uni-FAN total solution to implement the Europe FTTx Business Model. The Uni-FAN solution’s core characteristics are intelligent, open, unified, green and future-proof. It emphasizes users’ diversified service awareness and detection and control of upstream services to help operators provide SPs/CPs with services of different QoS and security levels. The solution supports GPON/EPON/XG PON1/WDM PON/Hybrid PON access and allows smooth evolution to next-generation PON networks to protect operators’ initial investments. A low energy-demand design ensures minimal carbon emissions to help the building of sustainable networks.
ZTE vice president Xu Ming said, “We have been tracking and researching customer requirements, especially the brand new challenges for business models brought about by open network environments such as Europe’s. We will deepen cooperation with operators to provide more comprehensive solutions and more efficient and better services.”
