Huawei, a telecom solutions provider announced the signing of two agreements (MOU) with the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI), an affiliate of the Ministry of Communications and Information technology (MCIT), during Cairo ICT 2011.
The first agreement, launching Egypt Governmental ICT Training for Employment Project, was signed by Mr. Rao Xiaobo, Egypt Country Manager and Dr. Ahmed El Sherbini, NTI Director and it was witnessed by Dr. Maged Osman, the minister of MCIT and the Chinese Ambassador Mr. Song Aiguo.
During a period of 2 years, Huawei aims to train as much as fresh graduates, after which Huawei and NTI will both assist these graduates in finding jobs, by introducing them to partner companies within the MENA region.
As a future plan, and as a symbol of partnership between Egypt and China, the ''Egypt-China Joint ICT academy' will be established in Egypt. The Academy will be fully equipped with the latest technologies from Huawei, such as FTTx, GPON, and LTE. The academy will be a continuation on enhancing Egyptian ICT market by training students in the various technologies.
Rao Xiaobo, Huawei's Country Manager said: "We believe the next period will prove to be a challenging one; therefore we believe that the honest way to pass through is through empowerment. This can only come by providing proper information and structured training that enables youth who are truly the backbone of the ICT industry."
He added:" Huawei has always advocated training through rigorous training modules across the multiple sectors within our industry. This agreement will crown our CSR initiative that we have started 3 years back when we launched our first training center in Egypt."
The ceremony also witnessed the launch of Huawei's Authorized Network Academy (HANA). A worldwide renowned program provided by Huawei, where top universities and/or institutes are chosen as partners. Huawei Egypt is the first to deploy this project and has certified NTI as their strategic partner, to provide certified trainings to Egyptian youth in Huawei network products.
This project is launched in alignment to Huawei's strategic march into the Enterprise business, by giving the opportunity to Huawei users, distributors and partners to learn more about it. The Academy will also make it easier for graduates to find jobs at Huawei or its partners by enabling them and providing them with the right tools. |
