Telecom major Bharti Airtel has come out with a new broadband scheme, dubbed ''Smartbyte', under which customers that exceed the data usage threshold under existing plans can purchase an additional quota for a fixed price.
Under the new scheme, customers have been given the option to buy additional data access at a fixed price, in contrast to the earlier system of paying for every megabyte of additional usage.
"Customers who often exceed usage of their allocated quota have to pay per megabyte, which starts from 20 paisa per MB. We will now offer them the option to buy additional data for a fixed price as per their need," Bharti Airtel president, Consumer Business, K Srinivas told PTI.
He added that under the new Smartbyte scheme, customers will be given the option to choose from packs starting at Rs 99 for 1 gigabyte (GB) to Rs 1,499 for 50 GB.
"This additional data will be offered at the same internet speed the customer has subscribed to," he said. |
