Government is toying with the idea of moving an application in the Supreme Court against certain statements made by Janata Party President Subramanium Swamy on 2G spectrum issue, claiming he was encroaching upon the apex court''s jurisdiction as the matter was sub-judice. Diatribe
Referring to a news report from Bangalore in which Swamy had said that he won't rest till the then Finance Minister P Chidambaram is arrested in the 2G case, government could inform the apex court that the Janata Party President was encroaching upon its jurisdiction, sources in the government said tonight.
The Supreme Court had last month reserved its judgement on a plea of Swamy, a petitioner in 2G case, for a probe into Home Minister P Chidambaram's role as the then Finance Minister in deciding the second generation (2G) spectrum pricing. |
