The Delhi High Court has granted DMK MP Kanimozhi bail for her role in the 2G scam after 6 months.
Kanimozhi and four others, who were also granted bail, will have to furnish sureties of Rs1 lakh each.
The Court imposed the same conditions for the bail as those imposed by the Supreme Court on five corporate executives accused in the 2G spectrum case.
Earlier in the day, the High Court resumed hearing on the bail pleas of Kanimozhi and five others in the 2G spectrum allocation case.
Apart from the DMK MP, the court heard the bail pleas of former Telecom Secretary Siddharth Behura, filmmaker Karim Morani, DMK-run Kalaignar TV MD Sharad Kumar and private firm Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables Pvt Ltd director Rajeev Agarwal and Asif Balwa of DB Realty.
Except Sidhharth Behura, the rest too were granted bail on Monday.
Chances of bail for the rest brightened after the Supreme Court granted the bail to five corporate executives last week.
Encouraged by the SC order, Kanimozhi had moved Delhi High Court for an early hearing of her bail plea. |
