Huawei sets agenda for Future of LTE Networks with "No-Edge Networks" approach
TT Correspondent |  |  30 May 2012

Huawei said that for the past 20 years, mobile operators have focused on how to increase their subscriber numbers, but in the next 20 years, the focus should be on attracting valuable users and enhancing user experiences.

Ying Weimin, President of GSM/UMTS/LTE Networks for Huawei's Wireless Network business unit, in a keynote presentation at the 2012 LTE World Summit No-Edge Networks' will open up a high-growth market for operators and bring users an improved service experience by helping operators build efficient, sustainable and profitable mobile broadband networks.

The core thinking behind "No-Edge Networks" is the utilization of various LTE, LTE Advanced and innovative future oriented technologies (e.g., CoMP, Adaptive Inter Cell Interference Coordination, Advanced Receiver, Interference Rejection Combining and Turbo Equalizer) to realize ultra broadband, zero waiting, and ubiquitous connectivity. This results in an enhanced experience, bringing users the benefits of speed, quality and simplicity.

Weimin added that Huawei will continue to work with industry peers to promote mobile broadband. Huawei's LTE products and solutions are now being used by 37 of the world's top 50 operators. According to the May 8, 2012 "Evolution to LTE" GSA report, 72 commercial LTE networks have been launched globally, of which 34 LTE networks and 27 EPC networks were deployed by Huawei.
