Spice to launch a new range smartphones in December
TT Correspondent |  |  06 Dec 2012

Spice, India’s leading Mobile Internet company is planning to launch new range of smart phones in mid-December.

The company said that the move will reinforce S Mobility’s dominance in the smartphone segment after the very successful STELLAR series launch in last quarter.

“Spice has aggressive plans for the smartphone segment considering the market potential”, it said in a statement.

It said that considering the growth trend in the smartphone segment, the new offering will have a wide range of choice, tailor-made for specific needs of the consumer and will have a sleek & stylish design.

The support for these top of the line handsets will be very strong given the robust distribution network and will be complimented with an aggressive marketing campaign. From being the first to launch a dual sim phone, to launching the first mobile phone with an optical zoom or being the first to offer a range of ‘Secure Android’ smartphones, Spice is known for its market innovations. And this time, it will be no different. The new range promises an incredible user experience along with a plethora of features.

It is estimated that the number of global smartphone users will exceed 1 billion by 2013. While a study predicts that 26 out of every 100 phones sold globally this year will be smartphones, by 2015, smartphones will make up 40% of the total handsets sold across the world. The smartphone segment is forecast to see a much higher growth at 63.4% from 2011-15 and may achieve a shipment of 77.5 million by 2015 in the Indian market.

T M Ramakrishnan, CEO, Devices, S Mobility said, “It has been our endeavour to offer the best to our customers and these products will reinforce the consumers’ trust in our ability to deliver premium quality devices with cutting edge technology at an aggressive price”, he added.
