Are Facebook, HTC working on integrated phone?
TT Correspondent |  |  01 Apr 2013

The latest grapevine is that HTC and Facebook are planning to introduce an integrated phone. People are drawing inferences from a Facebook press invite to be held on April 4 at its headquarters which says 'Come See Our New Home on Android'.

Though it does not hint at new Facebook app or any Android device, there are online reports suggesting a market campaign by HTC and Facebook in Southern California.

According to Techcrunch there could be an announcement of a new HTC mobile handset running a modified version of Android featuring deep native Facebook functionality on the homescreen.

According to Wall Street Journal, it’s just some new software that “displays content from users’ Facebook accounts on a smartphone’s home screen, the first screen visible when they turn on the device”.

According to Business insider, it's not exactly a Facebook phone, but an Android-based platform with a bunch of Facebook stuff tacked on. Facebook has a growing suite of mobile apps for iOS and Android that can turn any phone into a "Facebook Phone."
