Apple has said that it is cooperating in the investigations into an accident in which a 23 year old Chinese woman died while talking on her iPhone 5.
Ma Ailun from China's north-western Xinjiang region got electric shock while answering the call on charging mobile. The incident happened soon after she came out of bath, according to Xinhua news agency.
"We are deeply saddened to learn of this tragic incident and offer our condolences to the Ma family. We will fully investigate and co-operate with authorities in this matter," Apple said in a statement.
The phone and charger are reported to be in possession of the police. The family according to the reports, had bought the phone from an Apple store, and was using the original charger. The reports also suggest that there could be a flaw with the charger or its connecting wires.
One theory that is doing rounds is that a person who is wet provide just such a pathway for a lethal current, while the other suggest that extremely hot climate in Xingiang is responsible for this.
