Special CBI Court today fixed October 28 for hearing the 2G scam case regarding allocation of additional spectrum beyond 4.4 Mhz to Bharti Airtel and Hutchison Essar. Sunil Mittal, chairman of Bharti group and Ravi Ruia, promoter of Essar group are accused in the case.

The judge O P Saini adjourned proceedings in the case as Mittal and Ruia had filed separate pleas, saying the Supreme Court had said that there was no need for clarification on its interim order of April 26.

The two did not appear in the case on Monday while Shyamal Ghosh, former Communications and IT secretary who is also an accused, appeared before it.

Senior advocate Harish Salve, who appeared for Mittal, told the court that as per the April 26 interim order of the Supreme Court, stay on the proceedings before the trial court remains.
