Google launches Android One powered smartphones in India with price tag of around Rs 6399

Google, on Monday launched the first smartphones based on its Android One operating system in India. The price is around Rs 6,399 ($105) and Google aims to capture the low-cost segment of the world's fastest growing smartphone market.

Google has launched the phones in partnership with Indian mobile phone makers Micromax, Karbonn and Spice Mobiles. Micromax, Karbonn and Spice will be the first three handset makers to sell these devices to customers.
 
Spice  Mobiles has partnered with Flipkart as its exclusive partner for Android One device. Whereas, Karbonn Mobile has partnered with Snapdeal.com and Micromax is going with Amazon.in.
 
Google says it plans to expand Android One to Indonesia, Phillippines and other South Asian countries by the end of 2014 and in more countries in 2015.
