Xiaomi’s sub brand POCO on Wednesday has launched POCO F1 in three variants starting Rs 20999 to take on the likes of Samsung, OnePlus and Vivo in the premium space. The flagship device comes with Snapdragon 845 chipset with Adrena 630 GPU.
The smartphone houses a powerful 4000 mAh battery with QuickCharge 3.0 for fast-charging. On the camera front, the handset features AI dual-camera and 20 MP front shooter. The variants differentiate on memory and storage front offering 6GB and 8GB RAM with storage options ranging from 64GB to 254 GB.
Xiaomi reportedly said that the handset will support faster mobile data download speeds with 4G+ standard. The device will be based on a special version of Xiaomi’s MIUI. POCO’s launched device will be manufactured in India.
Xiaomi’s new brand will be backed by the company’s own supply chain, operations and service infrastructure. Jai Mani who had served Google for almost four years before joining Xiaomi was appointed as the lead product manager for POCO.
Jai Mani, Head of Product, POCO Global said “POCO stands for ‘a little’—we believe in starting small but dreaming big. As a small outfit within Xiaomi, POCO has the freedom to start from scratch, zeroing in on the product choices and technologies that matter”.
Chinese brands Huawei and Oppo have recently seen success with their sub-brands Honor and RealMe, respectively in India with an online-first focus.
POCO is offering Rs 1000 instant cashback to all HDFC debit and credit card holders. The company said that POCO F1 will become world’s only device with a Snapdragon 845 chipset under Rs 20000 post availing the HDFC offer. |
