Chinese vendor, ZTE today announced bagging a wireless network order from Mumbai-based Loop Telecom. Loop Telecom has bagged licence to offer pan-India GSM based mobile services.
As part of the deal, ZTE will provide end-to-end network equipment to the operator. The deal also includes the provision of a comprehensive portfolio of telecommunication equipment and services, said a company statement. The network will be based on ZTE’s V3 version developed on GSM technology.
Confirming the development, S Bandopadhay, CTO Loop Telecom, said, “ZTE has been selected as the supplier for the core GSM network, access and service layer.”
“We are actively involved and committed to a successful network rollout of loop Telecom. We are delighted to partner ZTE for rolling out the pan India network. We selected ZTE because of their capability to deliver innovative, custom-made products and services based on their strong R&D support in GSM domain,” he added.

Loop Telecom has licence to operate in 21 circles across the country and has received start-up spectrum for 20 of these circles. |
