British Telecom maybe on the verge of announcing more job cuts and focusing on cost savings elsewhere across the globe. But the company is betting big on its India investments and now plans to open a new security operations centre in India (SOC) catering to the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.
The company announced that it will invest 375,000 pounds (about $ 558,418) for setting up the centre. The SOC will provide security device management services.
BT aims to hire 30 professionals for the centre who will mainly be highly skilled specialists. BT said that the investment will be part of the ''Follow-the-Sun' customer service model and will include investments towards physical site, staffing, equipment as well as maintenance.
"We want customers to be able to change configuration and tackle problem management services which are engineered to BT's legendary quality standards," said BT India Managing Director Sudhir Narang.
The centre will provide security device management services including firewalls, intrusion detection devices and Bluecoat Proxy devices used for securing networked-IT environments. |
