Yahoo India announced 2nd year PHD student of IIIT Hyderabad, Ashish Managalampalli as one of the winners of the 2009-2010 Yahoo Key Scientific Challenges (KSC) Program Award.
The award comprises selecting 21 exceptional PHD students from all over the world to be part of Yahoo’s KSC program. Ashish is the only student from a non-US institute or university. He has awarded with $ 2000 of funds to support research activities along with an invitation to the KSC Graduate Student Summit in Sunnyvale.
“Supporting the academic community is a top priority at Yahoo! and we created the KSC Program to support outstanding PhD students who we believe are doing research in very important and challenging areas,” said Rajeev Rastogi, VP and Head of Yahoo! Labs Bangalore. “We are excited to be able to support students like Ashish with KSC grants, and we look forward to having them as part of our broad research alliance of outstanding students and faculty,” Rastogi added.
