India’s leading software and IT firm, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Monday, announced the availability of new business intelligence (BI) solution, for hospital and other healthcare providers.

Knighted as Provider Performance Insight, the solution is developed on SAP Business Objects software and implements TCS’ proprietary BI framework. 

The solution constitutes of dashboard, which is built on SAP BusinessObjects Xcelsius software, using TCS’ hBIDS (healthcare analytics framework), which according to the company will simplify projects, cut costs and significantly shorten time to value related to both hospital administration and patient care.  

TCS’ Provider Performance Insight takes just three to five months to deploy and provides end-to-end solutions for both administrative and clinical processes, in contrast to a typical business intelligence that consumes 12 months for initial results and up to 18 months for completion, said the company.

“The escalating cost of healthcare makes it imperative for all healthcare providers to evaluate efficiencies in every aspect of their business. Both patient care and operational effectiveness need to be evaluated, improved and tracked on an ongoing basis and this will be enabled by our solution,” said Debashis Ghosh, head of Life Sciences and Healthcare at TCS.
